Policies

As a matter of courtesy, our guests are expected to exercise good common sense and respect for others. Great Parks’ Rangers may terminate occupancy or remove individuals from the campground, at their sole discretion, for violation of campground policies. No refund or credit will be given. Please remember that we enforce our policies to protect our guests, our staff, and our Parks.

Refunds/Cancellations

Camping is an outdoor experience. Discounts or refunds will not be given due to inclement weather.

  • More than 30 days before check-in: Full refund.
  • Between 30 days and 48 hours before check-in: A $5 cancellation fee applies. The remaining balance will be issued as a Great Parks gift certificate, sent to the email on file. This certificate can be used at all Great Parks’ locations.
  • Less than 48 hours before check-in: No refund and no gift certificate issued.

Motor Vehicles

  • Vehicles parked at the campsite must display a valid Campground Vehicle Pass on the rear-view mirror while camping. This pass serves as your Motor Vehicle Permit during your stay.
  • Campers receive two vehicle passes at check-in.
  • Great Park’s Bylaw 73.04 states: Parking of any motor cart, motor vehicle, motorcycle, or motorized bicycle is restricted to designated parking areas, unless directed by park personnel or a traffic-control device.
  • Parking on the grass is not allowed. Additional vehicles must park in the campground lot and display a valid Motor Vehicle Permit sticker. Permits can be purchased at the Welcome Tech booths, Campground Office, or Boathouse.

Check-In

  • Earliest check-in time is 2 p.m. Campers must stop at the Campground Office to obtain paperwork before entering the campground.
  • If arriving after hours, call 513-851-2267 before closing time to receive check-in instructions. Office hours can be found at greatparks.org.

Quiet Hours

  • Quiet hours are from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m.
  • If your site can be heard from another, it's too loud.
  • Generators, floodlights, radios, TVs, and similar devices are not allowed during quiet hours.

Check-Out

  • Latest check-out time is noon. Campers must vacate their site by the date on their site tag.
  • If you experience any issues vacating your site, notify the Campground Office.
  • Failure to comply may result in impoundment of property left on-site and additional charges.

Campfires

  • Fires are only permitted in fire rings or campers’ grills for cooking.
  • Fires should not exceed three feet in height.
  • Do not move fire rings on your site.
  • Do not cut trees or limbs for firewood.
  • Do not use chain saws.
  • Do not leave fire unattended.
  • Extinguish your fire before checking out.
  • An emergency fire extinguisher is located outside of the shower house.
  • Burning pallets is prohibited.

Camping Equipment

Campers may have one camping unit, one tent and one dining fly, or two tents and one dining fly. A camping unit is defined as an RV, fifth-wheel, trailer or pop-up. Camping in vehicles is not allowed; a camping unit or tent must be present on the campsite. RVs, fifth-wheels and trailers must remain on the gravel pad. Tents and single-axle pop-ups are permitted on the grass. If you have a larger camping unit, this may reduce the vehicles that will fit on the gravel pad. Your second vehicle will have to park in the campground parking lot with the Campground Vehicle Tag on the rear-view mirror.

Firewood Quarantine

To prevent the spread of invasive insects, our region is under a firewood quarantine. These pests spread primarily through movement of firewood. Movement of firewood in or out of the campground is prohibited. Approved firewood is available for purchase at the Campground Office.

Occupancy

  • Occupancy is no more than 14 nights.
  • Campers must leave for 48 hours before returning to camp again.
  • No more than six (6) people may occupy a site.
  • There must be someone at least 18 years of age staying on the site and assumes responsibility for all campers.
  • Minimum age 21 years or older for cabins.

Shower House

  • The shower house is available for campers’ use only.
  • Shower house is not available for non-campers.
  • Parking at the shower house is available when using the shower house and is limited to 30 minutes.
  • Visitors may not park at the shower house.

Camper Conduct & Bylaws

All Great Parks’ bylaws and regulations apply to the campground. Profanity and loud/abusive behavior, and loud music is prohibited. Conduct that could endanger the welfare of others or their enjoyment will not be tolerated.

Conservation

  • Cutting or chopping of trees/limbs and vegetation and collecting natural material for firewood is prohibited.
  • Mistreating wildlife is prohibited.
  • Feeding wildlife is prohibited. Feeding wildlife can cause dependency on people for food which can lead to a loss of survival instincts, create conflicts, and possibly spread disease.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may be consumed on campsites subject to Ohio laws. Consumption is not permitted in public areas (parking lots, campground road, campground playground, etc.).

Boating & Swimming

Campers are permitted to launch their private canoes or kayaks at the canoe/kayak launch located between sites 47 and 49. Canoes and kayaks must be licensed. All Ohio watercraft laws apply. Kayak spray skirts are not allowed. Swimming in Winton Lake is prohibited.

Campground Shelter

Registered campers may use the campground shelter by the playground from 9 a.m.–11 p.m. while currently camping. This is not open to the public. No alcohol at the shelter. Quiet hours must be followed.

Visitors

Visiting hours are from 9 a.m.–11 p.m. Campers are responsible for their visitors’ actions. Visitors must comply with campground policies.

Clean Site/Trash/Recycling

  • Campers must maintain a clean campsite.
  • Campers are to place all trash and recyclables in the appropriate dumpster at check-out.
  • Do not burn trash in your campfire ring.
  • Vacated sites requiring cleanup by staff may be assessed an additional fee.

Severe Weather

Great Parks highly recommends that outdoor activities cease and everyone seek shelter when severe weather is present. Great Parks is not responsible for inclement weather. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors.

Recycling

The clear plastic bag is for recycling purposes. Please recycle paper; plastic bottles, jugs and jars; glass bottles and jars; aluminum, steel and tin cans. Do not recycle plastic shopping bags, disposable cups (no Styrofoam), paper plates, and food containers. Dispose of your recycling bag in the green dumpster in the campground.

Safety

Participation in this event/activity can be inherently dangerous and injury and illness (including communicable diseases such as influenza, MRSA, Coronavirus, etc.) is possible. Fireworks, firearms, or weapons of any kind are not permitted.

Low Speed Vehicle (LSV)

  • Low speed vehicle (LSV) use is allowed. A maximum of one LSV is permitted per campsite.
  • Driver must be 16 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license.
  • LSV is limited inside the campground road. No LSV is permitted to travel on any other park road.
  • LSV is for daytime use only unless equipped with headlights and taillights.
  • LSV must obey all road signs and traffic laws and must travel in the same direction as vehicle traffic.
  • Failure to follow these rules may result in Ranger impoundment and a ticket.
