Entry Level Riding Lessons

At this introductory level of lessons, students may have enjoyed the occasional trail ride or had limited formal lesson experiences. They are introduced to independent control at a walk and trot gait.

IEA Team Lessons

What to know

By invitation only. To qualify for IEA lessons, riders must be current team members or selected for the team through an IEA tryout.
IEA Team lessons are for upper-level riders pursuing hunt seat equitation competition. The Interscholastic Equestrian Association program allows middle school and high school-aged students to train and compete in the same style as IHSA (Collegiate) equitation riders. This fantastic program promotes excellent riding and sportsmanship in a supportive team environment.

Advanced Novice Riding Lessons

What to know

At this fourth level of lessons, students have progressed from Novice and are developing advanced skills like group trot and trotting without stirrups while riding more challenging horses than beginners.
Beginning at this level, riders learn how to tack their horses, allowing them to ride in either English or Western style during any available time slot. Tacking requires students to arrive 10-15 minutes early.
