Sled, ski, fish or skate!

Experience four-season friendly magic of the outdoors with winter activities!

Before heading out to the parks, check the alerts & closures page or call (513) 521-7275 for road and facility closures, park conditions and safety advisories.

Great Parks Rangers will no longer be checking ice thickness or lake/pond conditions. All winter activities are at your own risk.

Sledding

Sledding is permitted everywhere except golf courses, conservation areas and natural areas. 

Recommended sledding areas are located at Miami Whitewater Forest (Overlook off Harbor Ridge Drive), Sharon Woods (Cardinal Crest Meadow Shelter) and Winton Woods (Butterfly Bluff Shelter).

Cross-Country Skiiing

Cross-country skiing is widely acknowledged as one of the best cardiovascular exercises that you can do. 

Permitted everywhere except golf courses, conservation areas and natural areas.

Hiking

Hiking season does not have to end when winter comes. Explore our trails on your own, or register for the Winter Hike Series and enjoy some camaraderie along with a hot, hearty bowl of soup afterwards.

Ice Fishing

Ice Fishing is permitted at any lake where fishing is normally permitted except Campbell Lakes Preserve and Lake Isabella. 

Normal rules for licenses apply year-round.

Ice Skating

Outdoor ice skating is permitted everywhere except Campbell Lakes Preserve and Lake Isabella.

Snowmobiling is prohibited at all Great Parks.
