Scout Programs

There is no better place for scouts to earn badges than the Great Parks.

Scouts can work through the requirements for various nature and animal-related badges with an experienced member of Great Parks’ staff.

Sign your group up for an existing program that meets requirements for certain badges or set up a private program for your scout group.

School Groups

Bring your Lessons to Life

Great Parks’ school programs connect students with nature through a variety of immersive experiences. These hands-on adventures are designed with outcomes, objectives and concepts that are aligned with the Ohio Department of Education’s Learning Standards. Programs are offered for student groups in pre-kindergarten through high school and cover the following content areas:

  • Early Learning and Development
  • Science
  • Social and Emotional Learning
  • Social Studies

Programs for homeschool students are offered in the fall, winter and spring. Dates, times and locations vary by season.

Scholarships

The Great Parks Scholarship Fund offers financial assistance for children to connect with nature.  

All scholarship applicants will be considered, but priority will be given to residents or groups located in Hamilton County. The awarded scholarship is up to 75% of the program cost, with a maximum of $300.

Applications must be mailed in or dropped off at Great Parks, 10245 Winton Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.

Support for Great Parks’ education programming at free or reduced cost is funded in part by the John A. Schroth Family Charitable Trust, c/o PNC Charitable Trusts.

Group Camping

Great Parks’ primitive group camps are available for families, friends and organized youth groups, such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, YMCA, United Way agencies, churches, community organizations or schools.
