William J. Burwinkel has notified Hamilton County Probate Court Judge Ralph Winkler of his resignation from the Great Parks Board of Park Commissioners effective June 27, and his resignation has been accepted by Judge Winkler.

“As commissioners, we have a responsibility to ensure our parks are welcoming and inclusive for all. The comments made by Mr. Burwinkel do not reflect the values or culture we strive to uphold at Great Parks,” said Melissa Wegman, board president, Great Parks Board of Park Commissioners.

All commissioners with the Great Parks Board of Park Commissioners are appointed by the judge of the probate court and serve three-year terms. Judge Winkler will now start the process of identifying a replacement for appointment on the board.
