Nature Camps

Operation Outdoors: Nature Nomads

With earthly expeditions, historic undertakings and crazy nature quests, join our squad of bold trailblazers as we travel from park to park in search of adventure. Make a new friend and lace up your boots as we throw tomahawks, explore ancient earthworks and find the biggest tree in our parks. Put the wild back in your week!

Operation Outdoors: Into the Wild

All nature is not as it seems! From flowers and fungi to streams and sinkholes, the natural world is full of twisted truths to untangle. Enter a lush landscape where the weird, strange and gross are hiding in plain sight. Grab your sleuthing gear to investigate the forest through games, crafts and animal encounters!

Noctural Camp

As the sun sets, let the fun begin! Delve into darkness and discover the park after dark. Tell stories around a campfire, test your night senses, investigate the forest and catch your moonlit mania as we explore nature at night!

Survival in the Wild

Does your camper have what it takes to survive in the wild? Campers will be challenged in the art of shelter building, fire starting and exploring unknown areas in the park. By the end of the week, they will understand their basic needs and what skills are required for survival.

*Before and after care are available for Operation Outdoors camps at $30 per week per camper. Indicate your choice when registering. The hours are 7:30-9 a.m. for before care and 4-5:30 p.m. for after care.

Farm Camps

Farmer for a Week: Young Farmhands

Explore the farm and discover what it takes to keep our barnyard animals happy and healthy. Campers will meet and care for our friendly farm animals while enjoying games and nature exploration. By the end of the week, they’ll gain valuable skills and a deeper appreciation for the environment.

Farm to Fork

Dig into an un-beet-able week of fun by exploring the exciting world of farming and food! This hands-on camp encourages young adventurers to connect with nature while discovering where their food comes from. Campers will tend to the garden and create tasty, healthy snacks from fresh ingredients.

Lil' Farmers: Ponies

Saddle up for a week full of ponies and their friends with your toddler or preschooler. Brush and groom a pony until they shine. Ride a pony, play horsey games and make crafts. One parent or adult caregiver is required to stay, play and learn along with their lil' farmer. Registration includes one complimentary caregiver.

Horse Camps

Horse Camps

All Summer Horse Camp sessions are sold out. Contact the Farm & Equestrian Center at 513-931-3057 to join the waitlist.
This four-day, full-day camp is designed for beginner to advanced-beginner level riders. Campers will learn about horse safety, basic horse care, grooming and riding.

Scholarships

The Great Parks Scholarship Fund offers financial assistance for children to connect with nature.  

All scholarship applicants will be considered, but priority will be given to residents or groups located in Hamilton County. The awarded scholarship is up to 75% of the program cost, with a maximum of $300.

Applications must be mailed in or dropped off at Great Parks, 10245 Winton Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.

Campers with scholarships must call 513-521-7275 to register for camp. These registrations are not accepted online.

Support for Great Parks’ education programming at free or reduced cost is funded in part by the John A. Schroth Family Charitable Trust, c/o PNC Charitable Trusts.

Camp Forms

Great Parks uses CampDoc to enhance the day camp experience for participants and staff through its specialized electronic health record system. Parents or guardians must complete their camper's health profile online through CampDoc at least seven days before camp begins. Additional information is included in the confirmation email sent upon registration.
