Lakeview Drive Closure

Aug. 12 - Oct. 3: Lakeview Drive will be closed for a culvert replacement project near the Locust Dell area. 

Disc Golf Course Closed

The Miami Whitewater Forest Disc Golf Course will be temporarily closed due to construction of the newly designed 18-hole Disc Golf Course. The course will re-open in the early Fall of 2025.

Construction may affect your access to the following parks and facilities:

  • July 14 (ongoing): Construction will begin to renovate the Miami Whitewater Forest Disc Golf Course. The course will be closed during the renovation period, with a planned reopening in fall 2025, weather permitting.
  • July 16 - Aug. 3: The Locust Dell Culvert Project on Lakeview Drive in Winton Woods will be talking place. Initially, Lakeview Drive traffic flow will not be impacted. However, in future phases of the project, Lakeview Drive will be closed to install the new 9’ by 14’ box culvert. Lakeview Drive closure is tentatively scheduled for August 12 through October 3, 2025.

Mitchell Mountain Bike Trail Closed

The mountain bike trail at Mitchell Memorial Forest is closed due to wet conditions. Please do not ride.

Sharon Woods Closures

July 29-31: Buckeye Falls Drive from the loop at the Gorge Trail/Buckeye Falls Connector to the west edge of the intersection at Sharon Woods Drive will be closed for milling and paving.

June 30-Nov. 7: The Upper Gorge parking lot at Sharon Woods near Kreis Dam will be closed during construction of the new accessible kayak launch and parking lot.

Ongoing: Due to construction of the Sharon Lake draining and dredging project, park facilities will close beginning April 1, 2024:

  • Sharon Lake, including the fishing dock and canoe/kayak launch
  • Boathouse
  • Shared-Use Trail around the lake – see map of Alternative Trail
  • Lakeside Lodge reservable shelter and adjacent parking lot on Kemper Road
  • The Upper Gorge parking lot near Kreis Dam

Sharon Lake is closed.

Sharon Lake is closed due to the dredging project. It is set to reopen Spring 2026.

Boathouse Closed

The last day of boat rentals and bait sales at the Winton Woods Boathouse will be July 28. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will lower water levels at Winton Lake from August to November 2025 for essential dam maintenance, temporarily impacting boating access. As a result, the Winton Woods Boathouse will remain closed through spring 2026.

The Snack Bar and Wet Playground remain open.
