Parking Lot and River Access Closed

Little Miami River Access Improvements at Bass Island will continue through summer of 2026. The Bass Island parking lot and river access will be closed during this time. Please refer to the project page for more information and check the website for updates on alerts and closures.

Golf Cart Paths Closed

Due to ongoing work for the Shawnee Lookout Stream Restoration project, the former golf cart paths are closed beginning March 25, 2025. Eagle’s Landing parking lot remains open. Park roads and other trails are not affected.

Sharon Woods Harbor - Snack Bar Closed/Temporary Boathouse Location

The Snack Bar at Sharon Woods Harbor will be closed during the Harbor Revitalization project. 

Beginning Thursday, May 28, boat rentals (single kayaks, tandem kayaks, canoes and pedalboats) are available at a temporary boathouse at Lakeside Lodge, 4661 Kemper Road. This temporary location is open seasonally for the duration of the project.

Shawnee Lookout Boat Ramp Closed

The Shawnee Lookout boat ramp is closed due to high water.

Disc Golf Course Renovation

• Embshoff Woods Nature Preserve

Renovations on the Emshoff Woods Disc Golf Course will start on Tuesday, September 7th. The course will be closed during the renovation period, with a planned reopening in Fall 2026, weather permitting.

High E. Coli levels

Bacteria Levels in Miami Whitewater Forest are currently above the recreational threshold in Ohio. Ingesting the water may be harmful to you or your pet’s health. Wash your hands after coming into contact with the water.

Mitchell Mountain Bike Trail Closed

Due to wet trail conditions the mountain bike trail and skills course at Mitchell Memorial Forest are now closed. Please do not hike or ride. 

Steamboat Bend Boat Ramp Closed

Due to river levels and debris, the Steamboat Bend Boat Ramp and Marina is closed until the water level returns to normal.

Shaker Trace Outer Loop - Tree Work

Contractors will be performing tree pruning and removals along the Shaker Trace Outer Loop trail starting on Monday, September 21. Sections of the trail will experience rolling closures at intersections nearest the work as the contractor progresses along the loop. This work is expected to continue through the week and possibly into the following week.

Lunken Trail - Berming Projectq

From Sept. 23 - Oct. 2, contractors will start placing topsoil along the edges of the newly paved Lunken Trail. While the work is being performed, visitors should expect temporary trail closures and reroutes along portions of the trail. Detours will be in place to help safely guide trail users through the area while work is underway.
