Due to weather and field conditions, the athletic fields at Triple Creek, Francis Recreacres and Miami Whitewater Forest are closed. 

They will reopen at regular hours on Thursday.

Shawnee Lookout Boat Ramp Closed

The Shawnee Lookout boat ramp is closed to vehicular traffic due to high water and debris covering the ramp and parking area.

Mitchell Mountain Bike Trail Closed

The mountain bike trail and skills course at Mitchell Memorial Forest are closed due to wet conditions. Please do not ride.

Sharon Woods - Kayak Launch Lot and Crosswalk Striping

A contractor will be planting wetland plugs from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. from May 7-28

• May 7 – 20: Site access will occur from the Kemper Road trail crossing; a truck and trailer will be staged in the Kemper Road parking lot and a UTV may be parked overnight
• May 21- 28: Site access will occur from the Sharon Knoll gate; a truck and trailer may be staged at the boat ramp and a UTV parked in the Kemper Road parking lot overnight

No trail closures are expected but trail users can expect a UTV infrequently traveling along the northern half of the trail.

Sharon Woods Harbor - Temporary Boathouse Location

Beginning summer 2026, boat rentals (single kayaks, tandem kayaks, canoes and pedalboats) are available at a temporary boathouse at Lakeside Lodge, 4661 Kemper Road. This temporary location is open seasonally for the duration of the Sharon Woods Harbor Revitalization project.

Werk Road - Partial Park Closure

A limited area within Werk Road Property is temporarily closed due to early site preparation in advance of Park Improvements beginning later in the year.  

Wooded Horse Trails Closed

The Miami Whitewater Forest Wooded Horse Trails are closed due to wet conditions. 

Restrooms Closed

The RiverView restrooms at Fernbank Park are closed for construction. Port-o-lets have been brought in during the construction. 

Glenwood Gardens - Trail Closure

Contractors will be working on the stone bridge starting on April 22, 2026. Part of the 1 mile trail will be closed until work is completed. 

Golf Cart Paths Closed

Due to work for the Shawnee Lookout Stream Restoration project, the former golf cart paths will be closed beginning March 25th. Eagle’s Landing parking lot will remain open. Park roads and other trails will not be affected.
