Shawnee Lookout Road Closures

Lawrenceburg Road is currently closed at US 50 towards the Lost Bridge and Miami View Rd. is also closed coming from Cleves. 

To access Shawnee Lookout, Mt. Nebo Road from US 50 to Lawrenceburg is the most direct route.

Shawnee Lookout Boat Ramp Closed

The Shawnee Lookout boat ramp is closed to vehicular traffic due to high water and debris covering the ramp and parking area.

Mitchell Mountain Bike Trail Closed

The mountain bike trail and skills course at Mitchell Memorial Forest are closed due to wet conditions. Please do not ride.

Construction Alert: Sharon Woods Drive Bridge Area

Construction for the Sharon Woods Drive Bridge Stream and Sanitary Sewer Modification Project will begin on January 5 and continue through spring. The bridge will remain open to vehicles and pedestrians; however, access to the stream under the bridge will be restricted, and the nearby trail will have a short-signed detour onto the park road. Construction traffic and equipment will be present in the area during this time.

Wooded Horse Trails Closed

The Miami Whitewater Forest Wooded Horse Trails are closed for the season. 

Seasonal Facility Update

As colder weather arrives, some restrooms and park facilities are now closed for the winter season. Portable restrooms are available in select areas for visitor convenience.

Campgrounds remain open for winter camping; however, site water spigots have been turned off for the season. Thank you for your understanding as we prepare our parks for winter conditions.

Closure of Buckeye Falls Drive

Buckeye Falls Drive from Highbanks Drive to the Sharon Woods Golf Course Parking Lot is open for vehicular access from dawn to 4:30 p.m. daily. Intermittent and infrequent daily closures are expected through February 2026 to allow for final Sharon Lake dredge and Sharon Lake trail construction tasks to be completed. Kreis Dam remains closed to pedestrian access.
