Paving at Miami Whitewater Forest
Contractors will be repaving the parking lot at Miami Whitewater Forest Harbor from October 8 - 18. Facilities will remain open, but minor inconveniences should be expected.
Parking lot closed
Due to a line painting project, the parking lot at Winton Woods Farm & Equestrian Center will be closed through Oct. 9.
Field Closures
Due to weather and field conditions, the athletic fields at Triple Creek, Francis Recreacres and Miami Whitewater Forest will be closed for the remainder of the day. They will reopen tomorrow.
Wooded Horse Trails Closed
The Miami Whitewater Forest Wooded Horse Trails are closed due to wet conditions.
Discovery Tree Closed
Due to renovations, public access to the Discovery Tree is temporarily closed. Access to the rest of the Discovery Garden is uninterrupted.
Winton Woods - Lakeview Drive Closure
Aug. 25 - Oct. 17: Lakeview Drive will be closed for a culvert replacement project near the Locust Dell area.
Closure of Buckeye Falls Drive
Buckeye Falls Drive/Kreis Dam will be closed from Highbanks Drive to the Sharon Woods Golf Course Parking Lot, and will be closed to pedestrian and vehicular access due to construction activities from Oct. 1 - 31, 2025.
Miami Whitewater Forest Disc Golf Course Closed
The Miami Whitewater Forest Disc Golf Course will be temporarily closed due to construction of the newly designed 18-hole Disc Golf Course. The course will re-open in the early Fall of 2025.
Sharon Woods Closures
Ongoing: Due to construction of the Sharon Lake draining and dredging project, park facilities will close beginning April 1, 2024: Sharon Lake, including the fishing dock and canoe/kayak launch, Boathouse, Shared-Use Trail around the lake, Lakeside Lodge reservable shelter & adjacent parking lot on Kemper Road and the Upper Gorge parking lot near Kreis Dam.
Winton Lake Public Access
Public access to Winton Lake is prohibited while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) lowers the water level for essential dam maintenance from August to November 2025. Boathouse operations, rentals, paddling access, fishing and all other lake-based recreational activities will resume in spring 2026.
